Maria Kontou is a highly experienced language tutor. She has spent the last 20 years teaching Greek as a foreign language to diplomats, civil servants and private clients - almost all as individual lessons.
Maria is a graduate of Athens University (BA Classics) and a postgraduate of King's College, London (MA Modern Greek Studies). She holds a British Council Diploma in Translation.
Maria spent eight years as a principal Greek language tutor at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Diplomatic Service Language Centre. Maria has also worked with other UK Government Departments, the British Embassy in Athens and the Institute of Linguists. She sets and marks Greek language exams for professional bodies.
Maria offers Greek language lessons in the Brighton, Lewes and Sussex area, and by Skype and FaceTime.
